Antar Dali

Virgilio Marti (cebter) and Antar Dali (right) are seen jamming in the above photo with Johnny "La Vaca" Rodriguez, father of Johnny "Dandy" Rodriguez, taken at my photo studio in Hillsdale, New Jersey. Circa 1974

Antar Dali, a stirring vocalist, appears on Perez Prado's "Mambo King, Vol. 3," and was a prime exponent of the son/Cuban salsa style vocal tradition. He was first recognized in the 1950s for his performances with Machito and His Afro-Cuban Orchestra, and he wrote songs that were recorded by Mario Bauza, Perez Prado/Benny More, Tito Puente/Perez Prado (seven albums), Mongo Santamaria, Justo Betancourt, and Johnny Ventura.
