Percussionist,
bandleader and musical producer, Gerardo
Rosales, was born in Caracas, Venezuela.
Gerardo started studying piano at the age
of eight, but realized he had a deep passion
for the congas by the time he was sixteen.
He studied Latin percussion in the "Taller
de Arte Integral Sarria" in Caracas,
where he also studied the timbales with
Alberto Borregales.
Today
Gerardo is considered one of the most important
percussionists of Venezuela and Europe.
His style of music combines Venezuelan and
Cuban rhythms with Jazz. Gerardo has performed
with such renowned artists as Paquito D'
Rivera, Carlos 'Patato' Valdez and Bebo
Valdez, to name only a few.
Gerardo's
new CD will be released in September of
2001. Contributing musicians on this CD
are Ralph Irizarry, Ruben Rodriguez, Luis
Perdomo, Roberto Quintero, Luisito Quintero,
Frankie Vazquez and Pedro Emilio Rodriguez. |
