Recently, while in New York City to perform at the Copacabana Club, the percussionists from Oscar D'Leon?s band
visited the LP® studios.
They participated in a photo session and recorded an exquisite piece of music. Joining them on
bongos and
timbales were
Cristobal Petit,
Yorman Leon, and
Charles Peñalver.
Oscar D'Leon is a salsa and Latin music star with a flair for showmanship. Originally from Venezuela, Oscar?s career
began in 1972, when he joined the popular orchestra, Dimensión Latina. His first hit was a forty-five called
Pensando En Ti. Four years later, he formed his own band, La Salsa Mayor. Over the past twenty years, he has recorded
sixty albums. His major musical influences are the Cuban musicians like Beny Mor?, and La Sonora Matancera, and the
stars of the sixties New York sound like Edie Palmieri and Fania.
