I
first met Sonny Bravo while he was playing with
Tipica 73. When I put a recording studio
together in my home in 1978 Sonny was very much
a part of the work that went on there. He especially
remembers the Alfredo
recording that we did featuring Cuban violin player,
Alfredo de la Fé. Sonny says there is nothing
like that recording around today.
It
is one of my biggest desires to see this and so
many other of the albums from this period re-released
on CD.
Sunny
Bravo has a good ear for sounds and he was impressed
with the LP Salsa Bongo Cowbells that they had
to choose for the session they are shown rehearsing
for. The one that he liked he said was tuned
to a 'G' which as opposed to the ones that are
tuned to a 'C'
