Trombonist, Chris Washburne is from a farm in Ohio and didn't hear Latin music until he was in his 20's. He has earned a Phd in ethnomusicology from Columbia University and is one of the nicest and smartest people I have come to know. He has been leading his own Latin jazz band at the Nuyorican Poets Cafe on Thursday nights in New York City for the last 4 years.
