He was one of the first Latin musicians I met and has been a friend for over 45 years. He participated in the Latin Percussion Jazz Ensemble that I formed in 1979 featuring Tito Puente which did 4 international tours. So successful was this group that it gave Tito the highest earning period in his career that lasted until his death.
