A
founding member and musical director of "Los
Munequitos de Matanzas," Gregorio was a percussionist
specializing in the tumba (deep-voiced drum).
With that group he recorded several albums, playing
percussion and drums, and he appears on various
compilations such as "Cuba: I Am Time"
(1977).
Over
his career, Diaz also worked with Diosdado Ramo,
Ana Perez Herrera, Israel Gonzalez, Jesus Alfonso,
and Agustin Diaz.
