Percussionist Dafnis
Prieto comes from Santa Clara, Cuba where he began
his musical education at the age of six by learning
to play the guitar. He started playing the bongos
when no one else in the band that he was playing
guitar for wanted to.
Dafnis
became interested in Jazz when he was thirteen,
and was inspired by accomplished musicians like
John Coltrane. He has performed with Jane Bunnett
in Canada, the Caribbean Jazz Project, Andrew
Hill, and D.D. Jackson, as well as numerous others.
