I
was really blown away with the appearance
of Rosie Perez who was extremely articulate
and spoke of how she became an activist
for the cause of finding a cure for AIDS.
I doubt if there was a dry eye in the audience
after she spoke.

Cruz and Tito Puente, the highlights of
the EL CONCIERTO POR LA VIDA held on November
16. 1998 at Avery Fisher Hall in New York
City. This show was to benefit The Gay Men's
Health Crisis. I don't think that I ever
attended a performance with as much great
music as this one.
For the grand finalé, Ralphie
Irizarry came on stage to perform on
timbales.
